週日下午鹽湖城氣溫將近九十度，我們的爬山組到Brighton的Twin Lakes Loop trail爬山。山上溫度大概只有七十多度，上山的車子非常多，大家都想到山裡面避暑。這個trail是一個loop，我們從Lake Solitude走到Twin Lakes再回到Silver Lake。Trail上充滿了大人和孩子們歡喜高興有說有笑的聲音。感謝神美麗的創造！

週日下午鹽湖城艷陽高照，當車子進入 Big Cottonwood Canyon 的時候，突然天空烏雲密佈，快到停車場的時候，開始下起雨來，雨勢沒有減低的樣子。到了停車場雨還繼續下，我們猶豫不決是否打道回府算了，但是大家覺得既然來了，就穿上雨衣爬山吧。那時候真不知道前面的天氣如何，突然想起一首詩歌“雲上太陽”，神是全知全能的，雖然小雨灑在臉上，神就像雲上太陽祂永不改變。我們走了半個小時之後，雨開始停了，過了不多久，天空也開始放晴，陽光普照，最後經過兩個小時，4個英里 1,875英尺爬升，消耗1,000卡路里之後，到了目的地，湖水清澈，風光明媚。感謝神美麗的創造！

Today is Memorial Holiday. We did not know there were many people hiking this beautiful trail until we got to the parking lot, which of course was full. We had to park our car far away from the trail head. The sky was cloudy, and we encountered some rain on the trail, which made it slippery. It was a steady ascent with 2,600 feet elevation gain. But the view at the end was breath-taking and well worth the muscle ache.

母親節的這一個禮拜幾乎天天下大雨，給了連續幾年乾旱的鹽湖城需要的雨水。天氣預報說母親節天將放晴，實在不太相信。但是沒想到週日起床後，發現天空竟然是藍色的。更沒想到雨後的天空還有許多的浮雲，把天空裝飾的更漂亮，山上步道盛開的野花也為整個風景增色不少。

2015-05-03 Shoreline Trail Block U Hike

This Sunday we decided to hike to Block U through the Shoreline trail via Dry Creek Canyon. We had hiked this trail 3 years ago in early April. We were surprised this time by all the wild flowers along the trail. But the most spectacular view was at the top of the mountain just behind the Block U. We just had some scattered rain storm in the valley, but luckily the trail was dry. Views along the trail were gorgeous. I also notice there were lots of maple trees. It would be a great trail to hike in autumn for the color-changing scene.

There were lots of blooming wild flowers at last Sunday's Twin Peaks trail hike. After a weekend rain show, the wild flowers bloom even like crazy. Sunday afternoon was very cloudy, and I went hiking with Phoebe to take some landscape photos on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. I am sure the photos will be very different due to the cloudy sky. It is actually more like a photo walk where we stopped on the trail to take lots of landscape photos.

Today is another beautiful day perfect for hiking the mountain in the Avenue area when trails in Cottonwood Canyons are still covered with snow. Our group hiked the Twin Peaks trail, now full of blooming wild flowers.
