There were lots of blooming wild flowers at last Sunday's Twin Peaks trail hike. After a weekend rain show, the wild flowers bloom even like crazy. Sunday afternoon was very cloudy, and I went hiking with Phoebe to take some landscape photos on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. I am sure the photos will be very different due to the cloudy sky. It is actually more like a photo walk where we stopped on the trail to take lots of landscape photos.
Our blog mostly documents the hiking activities my family and friends went together in and around the Salt Lake City and Utah area. We are so blessed to live in a beautiful place that offers limitless recreation opportunities and calendar-cover scenery.

Today is another beautiful day perfect for hiking the mountain in the Avenue area when trails in Cottonwood Canyons are still covered with snow. Our group hiked the Twin Peaks trail, now full of blooming wild flowers.

2015-04-12 Living Room Trail Hike
Hiking Photo Link
We had a warm winter and the temperature has been hovering in the 60s and 70s these past few days. Sunday was quite sunny with some gentle breeze. Xiaodong and our family decided to hike the Living Room Trail. Near the trailhead parking area, I saw some yellow flowers started blooming. They turned out to be arrowleaf balsamroots. We didn't expect to see these flowers because normally they bloom in late April. Rain is doing very well hiking on his own for most part of the trail. The clouds were very interesting and we all enjoyed the awesome view of Salt Lake valley.
